Now, don’t get me twisted…Makeup can mask a lot of imperfections, but at the end of the day, no amount of highlighter can compare to the glow of a thoroughly cared for skin!
Where a lot of my clients go wrong is thinking that skincare is just for “ageing” skin, or just for “acne” skin types. This couldn’t be farther from the truth.
If you are wearing makeup, you need to be able to prep your skin before application, and remove the makeup properly at the end of the day.
Finding the right skin care regime for you can be tricky, lets simplify it into two categories:
- Natural vs Chemical
- High street vs Spa Brands
Natural skincare brands tend to use marine and botanical extracts which hold a lot of potency, the effects of them are as effective as chemical products, without the threat of putting anything toxic into the skin.
Chemical skin care brands can also hold a lot of benefits. These brands tend to be fast acting and results driven aiding you to look your best in no time.
Both of these types of brands can be bought either on the high street (out of department stores, supermarkets and drug stores) or exclusively from Spa’s and Salons.
The high street holds a whole world of skincare, at great prices! Some offer special deals and will offer a whole range of products for you and your needs.
Spa/Salon only brands tend to be a little more expensive than your high street brands, however they offer a much higher range of activity in their products. Activity is what makes a product truly work in the skin giving you the effectiveness of the product you’re using and the effects on the skin that you desire.
Why use skincare?
Think about it!
Does wiping your face with those “Skincare” wipes really make you feel clean? Does it really remove every ounce of foundation or sweat and dirt from your pores before bed time?
Although your skin feels tighter after wiping yourself down with them, it isn’t necessarily clean. The main component of skincare wipes is Alcohol (at quite a high percentage..go on check the back of the pack). While alcohol does have a tightening effect and stripping effect on the skin, it also has an extreme drying and ageing effect too.
But i get it, we’re still kind of young right? what do we care about our “ageing skin”??
Enjoy your botox ladies……;)
